Some time back I bought a Charbroil gas grill, followed by a Kenmore. Both were purchased without my input. Each lasted about 5 years before the harsh Midwestern weather and the unavailability of replacement parts forced me to change it. I went with both models because of their reputations and a large number of good reviews on this site. Plus I thought that the spare parts should be easy to get if I needed them. I’ll break down my experience like this:
A. Delivery. Ordered the Weber Spirit E-320 grill on Monday before Christmas at regular shipping. It arrived three days later in good condition.
B. Assembly. Packaging is very thorough and all parts are intact. I took a nose through the manual a few nights before the actual assembly to be able to feel for them. All went well on the day of the assembly, no stress (I didn’t miss the beer, which some times can cause confusion. Instruction is a graphical layout step-by-step, with a minimum of text. Very useful. They also suggest a tool for the job. I will also add a pair of scissors, flashlights, and needle-nose pliers are the things that you might need. Hardware bag also includes a small wrench for adjusting the door, and a key to tighten the bolts, even the socket 7 / 16 also will do the trick. Allow 2 ½ to 3 hours for assembly.
C. Operations. Had to make several attempts to get the lighter to work, then I put in a new battery, and just like magic the grill “whoomped” into life. I let it preheat for about ten minutes, perhaps five minutes too long. As the temperature was a little high, so i had to turn it down and leave the cover on and soon i had an even heat. Then I cooked some frozen hamburger patties cooked them in no time at all. It was winter, so that between the darkness and the fog, it was hard to see what I was doing. But from what I could tell, the grill works exactly as promised.
As with all new grills, there is a learning curve involved. Also because I’m writing this in late December, It will be late March before I will be out grilling on a regular basis again. With all that said and my hands on experience grilling with the Weber Spirit E-320 I highly recommend this grill to anyone who wants to have something
